BYD

As Marketing Lead for the relaunch of BYD in Kuwait under Alghanim Automotive, I led the end-to-end reintroduction of the brand into the market, positioning BYD not simply as an automotive entrant, but as a technology-led mobility company aligned with innovation, sustainability, and future-ready transport.

My role bridged strategy, execution, governance, and education, with full ownership of marketing communications across digital and offline touchpoints. I worked closely with internal stakeholders, global brand frameworks, and external agencies to ensure BYD’s re-entry was consistent, premium, and commercially effective while remaining locally relevant to Kuwaiti audiences at different stages of EV adoption.

Objective

To successfully relaunch BYD in Kuwait by building brand trust, awareness, and consideration, while supporting commercial objectives through a strong MarComms foundation across showroom experiences, campaigns, and EV education, positioning BYD as a credible, accessible, and technology forward mobility brand.

Strategy and Execution:

  • Campaign & Communications Management (End-to-End)
    Led full-funnel campaign planning and execution across brand and product communications from briefing and concept development through production, rollout, and post-campaign evaluation. Oversaw delivery of all core assets across:

    • Digital content, social media, video, and paid formats

    • Showroom branding, POSM, and launch materials

    • OOH, retail activations, and onground experiential executions

    Ensured all outputs met global brand standards, local compliance requirements, and tight launch timelines.

  • Brand & Creative Excellence
    Acted as the local brand guardian for BYD, translating global brand and product narratives into culturally relevant, high impact Kuwaiti campaigns. Led creative development with agencies, ensuring clarity of messaging, consistency of tone, and strong storytelling that reinforced BYD’s positioning as a technology and innovation leader, not just a car brand.

  • Showroom Activations & Experience Design
    Designed and executed showroom launch experiences and ongoing activations that transformed physical spaces into educational and experiential touchpoints. These activations focused on EV technology, battery innovation, and ease of ownership supporting sales teams with clear narratives and structured customer journeys.

  • Digital Strategy & EV Education
    Built a digital-first communications approach to address EV knowledge gaps and adoption barriers. This included awareness-led content, always-on education formats, and campaign-based storytelling that spoke to both early adopters and mainstream buyers. Performance tracking and optimization were embedded throughout to ensure relevance and efficiency.

Outcome

The relaunch delivered strong brand and commercial momentum, establishing BYD as a serious player in Kuwait’s evolving mobility landscape:

  • Successful reintroduction of BYD as a technology-driven, future forward brand, differentiated from traditional automotive competitors

  • High impact showroom launches and activations that increased visitation quality and sales engagement

  • Strong growth in digital engagement and brand consideration, supported by EV education-led content

  • Improved internal alignment between marketing, sales, and operations through structured MarComms planning and asset governance

This project demonstrated my ability to lead complex, multi-channel MarComms programs, manage agencies and stakeholders, and deliver consistent, high-quality brand execution directly aligned with the requirements of leading BYD’s marketing communications at a regional level.
